Cannon Beach

Darrin's sister, Laura, and her family got to stay with us longer than the rest of our family. We got to show them a little bit of Portland. It was fun having them here and we couldn't have moved without all their help!

One of the days they were here we went to the Oregon coast--to Cannon Beach. It sure is beautiful out there but tends to be a little chilly and during this visit very windy.

Here is little Kayla wrapped up in a towel to keep warm.

Darrin with either his grumpy face or squinting in the sun face.

Logan loves the beach. He could play there for days on end without getting sick of the sand.

I mostly sat on the sand. Who am I kidding? That's all I did. It's hard to do much else when you have a newborn strapped to you.

Shane playing with Josh and Logan.

Princess Maia in her princess swimming suit. She especially loved finding the sea shells.

Laura with her happy face on.

Lilly, who loved to army crawl in the sand. I think originally it was to keep warm, but became her fun thing to do there.

Darrin and the kids took turns burying people. Here is Logan buried in the sand up to his neck.

Thanks for coming Mourtgos clan! We had a great time with you!

We chose to bless Bennett the first Sunday after we moved (which happened to be the very next day). We were lucky enough to have quite a bit of family there. They were such a blessing to have there because they helped move us in and my grandma's things out.

Bennett was one month and one day old.

Mindy & Parker, My mom and dad, Shane, Laura, Josh, Maia, Kayla, and Lilly all with Darrin, Logan, and Bennett

He wore the same outfit as Logan did.

The whole clan again

I don't know what I was doing/thinking in this picture, but the expression on my face makes me laugh.

We are a happy family! (that's a song Logan likes to sing recently)

One month

This is coming a few weeks late, but I figured I wanted to remember these things, so late is better than never.

Mr. Bennett boy had a pretty eventful first month of life. He:
-went on a road trip
-moved from Spokane, WA, to Portland, OR
-met his grandma and grandpa Enos
-met his Aunt Angela, Uncle Tom, and their kids
-spent 6 days in the NICU

Like a lot of babies he likes sleeping anywhere, especially if it isn't in his bed. And like most babies, with his hands above his head.

He gets a lot of love from this guy:

He has already made Logan cry several times...Logan is a sensitive one and when Bennett and him are in the same room and Bennett starts to cry it will make him cry too. I've had to comfort two crying children many times. Logan eventually calms down only after Bennett does and he sees that Bennett is okay.

During his first month of life, Bennett had a 5am to 6am ritual of grunting really loudly. He wasn't hungry, just trying to fill his pants :)
