i thought this was portland...

A couple weekends ago it decided to snow. A lot. At least a lot for Portland. We ended up getting 4-6 inches of snow and then frozen rain after that.

Logan was in heaven! Somehow I knew the winter hat would come in handy.

Logan went outside at least once a day until the snow was melted. I'm so glad for the sheltered porch we have. He could play as long as he wanted away from the terrible, bitter wind.

Each time, he would wipe the new snow off the table and plant stand.

Bennett was a mere spectator, but a cute one at that!

Intent to watch Logan.

Beautiful.

He loved clapping the snow together in his hands, getting snow all over his face. (I was taking the picture through the glass door)

By the last day, the rain had made the snow less dry. Darrin made a snow horse for Logan to ride on. Darrin got to work from home that weekend, so Logan was also in heaven having daddy home so much!

We've been missing this guy--working long hours for busy season.

Snowball fight.

The aftermath of the frozen rain. It lined all the trees in ice. The next day as the ice began to melt, icicles fell off in clusters, making for a pretty fun sight.

rewind: kendra!

Back last May, my amazing friend Kendra, and her husband, Ryan came through Spokane and paid us a visit. Logan fell in love with Kendra and talked about her for weeks afterward.

While they were here we did a little site-seeing.
One place we visited was Manito Park:

Kendra and Ryan in the Lilac Garden of Manito Park

Logan loved seeing the flowers. He picked up any he found on the ground and carried them around for a while.

Kendra practiced her photography while we were out and about. She took a class at BYU and got a camera from her dad for graduation. (Thanks to her I actually have pictures from their stay...)

Inside the Japanese Garden of Manito Park. Springtime means animal babies!

The Japanese Garden was very tranquil, just like you would suppose.

I'm so grateful for a wonderful friend like Kendra! She's the reason I had such a great experience at BYU. If she wouldn't have asked me to room with her freshman year, my life would be completely different now! Thanks Kendra for taking the time to visit, we sure loved having you!

7 months

7 months. Where has the time gone?
It is more and more fun to see his personality develop and be so much different than Logan's.
He has kept me guessing a lot of his life-naps, eating, nights, etc., etc. But wow, I love this little guy.

This is the face he makes a lot of the time while he's whining.

He sure likes his food. This month he's tried quite a few things:
-rice, oatmeal
-peaches, pears, prunes, bananas
-spinach, peas, squash, and carrot

He still adores Logan. Logan thinks Bennett is pretty cool too.
He still asks to hold Bennett sometimes, even though Bennett is getting pretty big.

Sometimes he spaces out. It is funny to watch.
I think it is mainly when he's sleepy.

He has grown to love his exersaucer.
He didn't care much for it in the beginning, but now he likes exploring it daily.

This month, he has mastered the raspberry.

He must be teething again because he gets really red cheeks and has been wanting to gnaw on everything in sight.

Taken on February 3rd: 7 months old.

Gotta love this sweet face!
