two point oh

It was too bright to take pictures outside, but I tried anyway...

At two, Logan
-recognizes and names all the abc's
-knows 10 colors
-knows 5 shapes

-loves planes, trains, trucks, cars, anything that goes
-loves being read to
-plays legos almost everyday
-loves going to the park and going down the slides and playing on the swings

-doesn't really have a favorite color, but if I had to say I would guess blue, yellow, or green
-sleeps about 12 hours at night and 2 hours during the day
-has peed on the potty many times, but only when he wants to

-has a great memory. He can name most of the kids in nursery and all the neighbors he knows
-remembers things I told him a long time ago

-loves animals and knows a lot of them. He often asks what some animals say that I have no idea (like turtles, kangaroos, etc.)

-has a good imagination. He will pretend his food is a train or car after he takes a few bites

-loves his mommy, daddy, grandmas, grandpas, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.
-has a few best friends (baby Lila, Jackson, Ty, Sadie)

-likes to make silly faces and watch us make them back.

Boy oh boy I love my boy. Every single day he does something that makes me love being a mom even more than the day before.

Logan is 2!!!

Logan turned 2 on May 3rd. I can't believe my baby is already 2. Yes, his tantrums sometimes show it, but usually he is such a happy little guy.

Here he is opening his first present (from grandma and grandpa) shortly after he woke up.

He's telling you he got a tractor from grandma and grandpa.

He loves playing with his two tractors together. Here is his cheesy smile...

Opening presents from mommy and daddy.

The next day we had some of Logan's friends over for a hot dog party. Here are Sadie and Ty.

His new tent from them.

All the kids (minus Lila) in the tent.

His dump truck cake. Maybe I'll just buy his cake next time...

Ready to blow out the candles.

happy birthday Darrin

The man of the house turned 27 the end of April. We sort of had two celebrations. One with just Darrin, Logan, and I and then a couple days later with friends.

The day before his birthday we also celebrated our 4th anniversary by going out to dinner to a really good southern food restaurant, Casper Fry.

At our family celebration--he's excited to open his presents :)

Here he is modeling his new sweatshirt. ( I felt kind of lame because I got him this sweatshirt to replace the one I got a bleach stain on...)

After opening presents Logan and Darrin had a wrapping paper fight. Logan thought it was hilarious.

We had some cupcakes to celebrate. It was fun having Darrin's birthday soon before Logan's because then Logan knew what to expect on his birthday.

Even though it is very very late, happy birthday sweetheart!

funny

I always cut Darrin's hair and he wanted to see what it would be like if he had more hair... As I cut off the hair on the side, I piled it on top of his head. We couldn't stop laughing when we saw how it turned out. Still makes me laugh to look at it.

:Logan has been into making faces lately. Here is a face he makes when we tell him to make a nasty face:

He brought out his blanket and pillow and put them in this box. He laid down in it and said night-night.

I figured I had to document this pregnancy like I did with Logan's. Here is 6 months with Logan:

And 6 months with baby boy #2.

We changed Logan's bed to a "big boy bed". He loves it. And it has been a miracle how well he adjusted. He doesn't even get out of bed until we come in the room. I was imagining him banging on the door when he wanted out, but I guess he still sees an imaginary gate there or something...

easter

Oops! It has been a while. April was a busy month for us and making it on campus to use the internet was not my number one priority. So, I'll be playing catch-up for a little while.

Easter was a fun holiday with an almost-two-year-old. He did participate in our Easter egg hunt last year, but  he didn't know what to do with the eggs or really how to find them unless we pointed them out.

This year, our good friends invited us over on Saturday for an Easter egg hunt for Logan and their son, Jackson.

Here he is with a basket full of eggs. He was really excited.

Chowing down on the candy next to Jackson.

Sidewalk chalk afterwards (we gave him that and a book in his Easter basket)

The day of was great. We just spent quality time together and had a yummy meal of ribs. Mmmm, my favorite. The best part was remembering all that my Savior did for me and how grateful I am to him. He brings hope to my life and helps me remember that I don't have to be perfect as long as I have Him.
