some kind of wonderful

Just the last two weeks was filled with all kinds of fun for us! 

First of all, one of my best friends ever got married! Congratulations Maren!

I was lucky enough to go to the sealing and it was beautiful. Tyler is one lucky guy!

The very next day, Darrin graduated! (Actually, he graduated in December, but this made it feel more real).  For a while he refused to walk at graduation, but with some coaxing from his dad we got him to do it. It was funny how fast I was able to spot him in the crowd of graduates.

The same weekend, we went down the road to Spanish Fork to go to the Krishna Temple. We got a "tour"...I would call it...hmm, in fact I wouldn't call it anything since it lasted about 2 minutes. But, I had wanted to go there to see what it was like, so I'm glad we did.  The best part was the animals.

Last Tuesday was our 3rd anniversary--whoa! where has the time gone?! We had a really great date.  We went canoeing on the Provo River-so fun! and we went to dinner at PF Changs-yum!

Last Wednesday, my big boy turned 26! (no, not Logan...)

I made Darrin his favorite-banana cream pie and we had one of his favorite meals.

We didn't really do much other than that because we had gone on a date the night before. I told Darrin his birthday would get mashed together with our anniversary if we got married the day before...he wouldn't listen :)

Just one more thing and then I'll stop...

I got to meet up with one of my besties Tara since she moved closer to me. We had a great time getting dessert and talking!

eleven

I haven't had much motivation to post, but I do have a few things to post about.  I have some projects I've done for lots of babies in my life, but that will come later. Logan is now 11 months old. I'm sure I've said this too much, but I can't believe how old he is.

I  wish I had a better camera on my phone because he always tends to do the best things when I don't have a camera nearby. But sometimes I do catch him on camera...

He loves books! Whether it's chewing on them, looking at them, or reading them with someone, he can sit still for a while if he has a book. 

Snuggle time with dad is one of his favorites, too. He'll only let you sit and hold him like this if we are bouncing on the exercise ball.

The past while he's become a snuggler, which I love. It isn't always, but it brings me back to the days when he would sleep on my chest as long as I would let him.

Now that the weather has warmed up (at least it was warm...) we've been spending more time outside.  He likes the swings, the grass, or just being on the deck looking down at the park.

This month Logan:

-claps his hands

-love to make noises with his lips and fingers

-loves spending time with his cousins

-eats all the time--he especially likes cheese, bread, and fruit

He rarely sucks his thumb when he's awake anymore and he does it less at night now that he's older, but I had to catch him asleep sucking his thumb.  Although I wouldn't like him doing it when he's older (like I did...), I can't help but think this is so cute.

It makes me a little sad to know he won't be my baby for much longer, but instead my toddler.

I think there is nothing cuter than a baby taking a bath. I take that back...there is nothing cuter than Logan taking a bath! (He IS my baby...)

I realized I hadn't taken any bath pictures in a long time, so here are plenty of pictures!

He doesn't really splash...yet. I know he knows how to because he splashed when we went swimming, but in the bath tub he would rather hold and bite his bath toys. He doesn't see the toys as often, so he loves each reunion.

9, 10 a big fat hen!

Logan is 10 months old now.  I thought I would just combine his 9 & 10 month posts. He has grown so much in these last two months.  He seems almost like a different baby because he has learned many new tricks. 

Here he is trying blackberries for the first time.  I put it in one of those net things and he just went to town! He loved them.  At the beginning of these months he had a hard time with textures in his food so this was a perfect first table food for him.

He has made friends with the bear rug in the basement. Yes, a real bear.  He likes to give it kisses and look into its mouth.

He's turning into a ham for the camera. He always smiles when he sees it and tries to grab at it.

Even though this picture doesn't show it, he's not a fan of changing his clothes or diapers.

He likes the exercise bike too.

Here are some firsts for the last 2 months:

-actually sits well (He had what I call small bum syndrome.  He could sit but would still tip over and now he doesn't)

-scooting

-crawling

-pulled up to standing on almost anything

This is the first time he pulled himself up to standing:

He was having so much fun he didn't even notice his pants were falling off :)

With Natalie:

He loved the flashlight being shined on his mouth. He would smile and smile!

He now loves:

-grapes

-bread

-fruit in general

-pancakes in the morning

-squash

-pasta

-feeding himself! He gets mad if we are trying to feed him.

His personality has really started to shine through. He is generally a very happy boy. See?

He really likes playing in the kitchen now.  Opening drawers and trying to open cupboards. Luckily, grandma is smart and keeps the aprons in the bottom drawer so Logan can play there.

At his 9 month check up he:

Measured 29.5 inches long (84th percentile)

Weighed 19 lbs 7 oz (42nd percentile)

And finally...42nd percentile head circumference :)

We love you baby boy! You really do bring so much joy to our lives!

changes

For a while there, life seemed like it was at somewhat of a stand-still. We knew Darrin would graduate in December, but we didn't know what life would have in store for us after that.  After looking for full-time jobs with not much luck, we didn't quite know what would happen.

Since then...we've had some changes.

A small one-haircuts! :) 

Darrin let me convince him to go super short and I got a haircut (1st time since Logan was 6 weeks old)

And now for the bigger one...We'll be going to Portland, Oregon for an internship in the summer. 

It is just a short 8-week internship, but we are really excited.  Things are starting to fall into place for us.  Darrin found a full-time temporary job, his internship, and got a great score on the GMAT--which will hopefully get him into a Master's program of his choice.  

Now just to wait on hearing back from schools...

projects

No...I haven't just been taking pictures of Logan all day. I do try to accomplish things, but some days I am A LOT more productive than other days. Logan has been teething and he wakes up a lot at night when that happens so I haven't been too motivated to do much, but here are some projects I've completed. I've been wanted to keep a record so I can come back to them if I want.

Baking... I like to bake, but I don't do it that often.  Before we moved I decided to do a little baking.  I hope I can make time for it in the future because it's fun.

Here I made some chocolate eclairs. These turned out well but I would change the chocolate topping next time to milk chocolate.

This was called egg bread, but I think it is basically Challah-a Jewish bread.  It was fun to make because they turned out pretty :)

Sewing...haha, this first dress I made from a shirt that I had. As you can tell, Darrin wasn't too thrilled about me dressing Logan up in it, but I had to make sure it would fit...the bow is just to complete it. Maybe I'll get a/some cute girls in the future, eh?

This project was so frustrating, but I'm glad I ended up finishing it.

I also made this vest for my nephew for Christmas.  This was made from an old pair of dress pants.  I followed this tutorial. I thought it turned out cute and I'm thinking about making Logan one soon.

I've made a couple more things, but those will come later. I'm also thinking about working on a quilt, stitched quilt squares, and perhaps a quiet book. 

It's nice to see finished projects because it motivates me to be more productive. Lately days have been hard as far as motivation, so maybe this post will help me...and you!

8 months

Well...seeing as how Logan is almost 9 months now, I thought I better get to posting about 8 months.  It seemed like so many things started changing by the time he hit 8 months.

-He started holding his hands up when he wants picked up

-He constantly had his bottom lip under his top lip, even when he smiled.

-He realized he could make a lot of noise and started to yell.  

-He likes to pull blankets off his head.

-Started crying when mom or dad leaves the room.

Firsts

-First move (from Provo to Payson)

-First Christmas!

-Has 2 bottom teeth and shows them off while he smiles :) 

-Just barely started getting up on his hands and knees (though not sure what to do after that).
