7 months

7 months. Where has the time gone?
It is more and more fun to see his personality develop and be so much different than Logan's.
He has kept me guessing a lot of his life-naps, eating, nights, etc., etc. But wow, I love this little guy.

This is the face he makes a lot of the time while he's whining.

He sure likes his food. This month he's tried quite a few things:
-rice, oatmeal
-peaches, pears, prunes, bananas
-spinach, peas, squash, and carrot

He still adores Logan. Logan thinks Bennett is pretty cool too.
He still asks to hold Bennett sometimes, even though Bennett is getting pretty big.

Sometimes he spaces out. It is funny to watch.
I think it is mainly when he's sleepy.

He has grown to love his exersaucer.
He didn't care much for it in the beginning, but now he likes exploring it daily.

This month, he has mastered the raspberry.

He must be teething again because he gets really red cheeks and has been wanting to gnaw on everything in sight.

Taken on February 3rd: 7 months old.

Gotta love this sweet face!

rewind: random spokane

Here are some random Spokane pictures worth blogging about. All of these are pre-Bennett.

There is just something wrong about this sign...can you see what we see?
It was posted by one of our favorite parks in Spokane...I'm drawing a blank...

At the same park, we sent Logan chasing after a duck.

Riverfront Park in Spokane. We spent a few evenings there feeding the ducks and geese. Much less aggressive than the Idaho Falls' ducks.

Our favorite pet store in Spokane. They had a room just for these giant tortoises. You could buy a head of lettuce to feed to them. This particular tortoise kept trying to get out but only made it this far. After this, we would ask Logan what a turtle said and he would grunt like the tortoise that was trying to crawl out :)

Riding on the carousel with our friends Jessica and Jackson.

rewind: mom and dad

I thought it was fitting that one of the things I wanted to blog about from long ago fits well with what just happened too. My parents just came last week to visit. This post is a rewind from back right before Bennett was born when they were visiting us in Spokane.

Spokane was home of one of the World's fairs long ago. They have a carousel downtown and Logan rode it a few times. Here he is in the back (in the grey jacket) riding it with Grandma.

We went shopping and Logan found some beaded belts to entertain himself.

He just kept piling them on...

We wanted to show my dad the basketball arena, but it was closed, so we took the opportunity to pose with the mighty mascot of Gonzaga, the bulldog. My dad lassoed that thing and took it for a ride.

As always, I love it when my parents visit. I was a knucklehead (as Darrin's dad would say) and forgot to take any pictures while they were visiting this time.

hair

Logan seems to have inherited at least some of my curl.
I wanted to grow it out really long, but Darrin insisted I cut it because it was looking gross.

Here he is before: (it doesn't show how bad it was looking...)
(He is roaring like baby lion, his most favorite cuddle buddy these days)

And the after:

Shortly after cutting it, I went to a Relief Society Christmas party, and got quite a few compliments on it :)
This is what he thought of it: (He kept asking to see his mohawk in the mirror)

Darrin didn't really like that either...
so here is the final after:

6 months

Now that Bennett is over his evening grumpies, time has really started to fly. Can't believe he's already half of a year old.

At his 6 month check-up, he
Weighs: 18lbs 1.5oz, 60th percentile
Measures: 26.5 inches, 45th percentile

He grabs at everything now. The animals on this little mobile don't stay on for more than 10 seconds now, but for some reason, we keep putting them back up.

I finally made him sleep through the night. After one miserable night, he has done great! We put Logan in a twin bed and put the rails back on the crib. Pretty soon they'll be sharing a room (finally).

Bennett loves Logan even more. He's so content just to watch Logan playing.

This month Bennett had his first Christmas.

He got a high chair for Christmas. He's learning to love it...

For Christmas, he also got rice cereal and tried it for the first time.
He was definitely ready.

He also got this teether for Christmas.

He got his first two teeth! (the bottom middle)
The teether arrived a little too late for his first chompers, but he still loves it.

I had to add this picture; it cracks me up.
He is still very vocal. Instead of growling like last month, he has turned to yelling. Not exactly screaming, but definitely yelling. It can be LOUD!

He's getting a little more mobile.
He spins and moves on his belly, but not close to crawling yet.

christmas

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas.
Had to do a baby's first Christmas photo.

They opened their Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve.
Logan kept feeling his pants and saying, "I love my fabric!"

Christmas morning!
Thanks Grandma for this fun, kid-friendly nativity!

We sure felt spoiled! Thank you Grandmas and Grandpas on both sides!

Christmas with a toddler was magical. After each present, Logan would want to play with it until we reminded him there were more presents to open. He loved every second of Christmas.

Can't forget these handsome boys

Who do you think was most excited? :)

Not the best night's sleep...

Later that day we went to Uncle Keith's house for dinner. A different, but fun Christmas. We sure missed seeing our families though.

five months!

Bennett is growing up too fast!
This month he seemed to change the most.

It's is getting easier to get him to smile.
He also started really laughing this month, although it isn't that easy to get him to laugh for you.

He is very alert and aware now.
He loves watching Logan and smiles a lot for him.

When he's happy he gargles.
He sure loves his daddy and big brother.

To celebrate being 5 months old, he rolled from his back to his belly.

When he's on his back, he will spin in circles to see around the room.

This month he:
-took a road trip to Idaho and Utah
-met his Grandma
-Met Uncle Jeff
-still wakes up once at night to eat

His eyes really became blue this month.

He started grabbing this month. He grabs toys, people, and hair most of all.
His favorite toy is the vibrating frog, same as Logan at this age.

Love you, Bennett!
